The luggage word is always associated with the travelling of passengers from one place to another. The types of luggage and the luggage storage methods have changed overtime. This change has accommodated the new requirements in terms of storage.

The antique trunks as storage items have changed to suitcases, Duffle bags, wheel bags etc. The change in models and the storage techniques are modified very often, as the lifestyles are changing. The useful features are being added to the luggage storage articles. Some of them now come with wheels, which make carrying of luggage easy and convenient. The introduction of expandable bags has solved the problems of general storage. The zips attached to the bags, when opened, extend the space.

The storage places are known as bag storage or left luggage storage places. Usually these storage places are available at railway stations, bus stations etc., which facilitate the movement of passengers, by allowing them to store their luggage. The passengers then can move around freely, without worrying about the luggage.

For storage, at airports and railway stations, the luggage lockers are available, which are operated officially and unofficially to facilitate the passengers, and make their journey comfortable.

At most train and bus stations, the staffed left luggage counter operates. There are certain counters which use the coin for locker systems, which are automated. Certain bus and train stations have limited cloakroom facility for the travellers to store their luggage.

The luggage storage facilities are available which ensure safety of the luggage. They provide these facilities at low rates. Most of them are open for 24 hours. They have air-conditioned rooms to store stuff, which is beneficial for many travellers. There is a provision to store oversized baggage like bicycles, ski boards, snow boards etc. To facilitate the customers and provide them comfort, when they are travelling.

The storage can be secured at many terminals and stations, making it very convenient for passengers and commuters. There is a call-out fee, if the stores are not open 24 hours. This needs to be paid in addition to the fees.

Certain terms and conditions are laid for using the storage services. The bags and storage containers should be strong, durable and tough. The fragile items should be protected with proper wrapping; and stuck with a label of fragile. The lock is very essential and many places will not accept the baggage without a lock. The storage fees are to be deposited, before collecting the luggage. Some of the prohibited items are not stored. If found, such items are gotten rid of.

Luggage storage facilities are always welcome by the passengers, as they facilitate the journey and make it very convenient.
